Gareth has over 10 years of senior drinks industry experience, having held Managing Director roles at Scottish Craft Beer Company, BrewDog and more recently at Chapel Down’s beer and cider division, the ‘2019 Brewer of the Year’ Curious Drinks.
As Managing Director, Gareth leads Distill Ventures’ acceleration and search teams, providing brands with all the support required to rapidly scale their businesses, whilst ensuring DV is finding the most exciting entrepreneurs outside of North America to join the portfolio.
Based in London, a key part of Gareth’s role is increasing Distill Ventures’ ability to provide founders with access to the highest calibre support in the industry, helping them to sharpen their commercial edge while giving them the freedom and tools to become the most effective leaders they can be. Essential to this is developing portfolio companies’ profile with key industry stakeholders.
Career highlights include overseeing triple-digit growth at BrewDog for four years running, over which time production increased ten-fold, as well as successfully rebranding Curious Drinks and overseeing the construction and launch of its new state-of-the-art 40,000hl brewery in Ashford, Kent.
Over his career in the industry, Gareth has worked with numerous other companies and brands, including Molson Coors and Red Bull, implementing innovative strategies to ensure long-term brand growth. As a passionate and experienced drinks expert, Gareth strongly believes that drinks are the social glue that bring people together.
