2018 Agenda Highlights

A senior-level speaking faculty, exciting new topics and exclusive networking opportunities made the 2018 edition of the Outsourcing in Clinical Trials East Asia conference our most successful edition yet.

This year, the conference began with a global focus. Hye Jung Lee from Caleb MultiLab spoke about preparing global approval in a single trial and detailed an overview of the FDA regulatory approval requirements and other international regulatory standards. This was followed by Chanminh Anh, RA Director at CGBio speaking about preparing your device to be tested in Europe under MDR to ensure smooth trial operations and Akhilesh Sharma, President and Chief Medical Officer, Alkem Laboratories delivering a presentation on leveraging global trials into winning regulatory strategies to get approvals across various regions.

The afternoon introduced delegates to two brand new topics on the agenda. A session on the effectiveness of AI in new drug development within the changing paradigm of personalised medicine was delivered by Hyun-Jin Yang, Medical Science Liaison, Syntekabio. This was expanded on by Rong Chen (Chief Medical Officer, JHL Biotech) who spoke about investigating challenges in the clinical development and supply of personalized medicine.

Throughout the second day, the audience focused on finding the right vendors for your study needs and managing relationship with them to ensure product quality. A standout presentation was delivered by Eddie Tam, Scientific & Clinical Regional Procurement Head – China, Asia, JPAC, Middle East, Turkey, Africa & Eurasia, Sanofi, who spoke about how to form a successful sponsor-service provider relationship to support clinical development in the next decade.  In the morning session, we also heard an engaging panel discussion about understanding the benefits of a strong partnership where the audience were able to discuss with speakers from BMS and Melinta Therapeutics about the CRO-Sponsor perspective on study management and cooperation.
