There were a number of key takeaways from the 2018 event which made our 20th anniversary event so memorable last year. The day opened up with our keynote, Julian Momen, CEO of Carlsberg UK who talked about how Carlsberg are refocusing their energy on the Carlsberg brand and utilising their rich, pioneering history of brewing. Further to that, we also had Hector Gorosabel, CEO of Asahi Europe return once more to give us an overview of how 2017 went for Asahi which was their first full year of trading since acquiring parts of SAB Miller in the blockbuster acquisition deal.
Throughout the 2 day conference, attendees were also able to move in and out of the different streams available to them which included portfolio diversification, digitalisation, the beer market and distribution strategies to tailor the event to their specific needs. Key talks included Ken Stout from Goose Island discussing the distribution strategies he has implemented for the company to grow it internationally and Elton Paul Andres Knight giving us a case study of San Miguel’s 0.0 beers.
GlobalData also shared videos with us with the theme of Day 1 being what has happened within the industry over the last 20 years, whilst Day 2 speculated on the future of beer including the further growth of non-alcoholic beers, alcosynths and drones delivering our favourite beers to our door.
