António Costa Gonçalves, Director of the Optimisation and Maintenance of Thermal Assets Division, EDP

António Costa Gonçalves is Optimisation and Maintenance of Thermal Assets Division Director in EDP’s Generation Unit. He has held this role since 2013, and is responsible for optimisation, maintenance and revitalisation of EDP’s thermal assets, and to coordinate and carry out Preliminary Studies and Base Projects, renewing/reinforcing power or environmental requalification of existing Thermal Assets and directing the decommissioning of Thermal Power Plants, including decommissioning, dismantling, demolition and environmental requalification. António has worked with thermal power plants for over thirty-seven years, He holds a B.Sc. in Electronics and Telecommunications from the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon, achieved in 1978, and a Dipl.-Engineer in Electronics and Telecommunications from the Technical University of Lisbon, achieved in 1985, along with a M.S.E.C.E. in Control and Robotics, also from the Technical University of Lisbon, achieved in1993. António has also published around forty papers in national and international conferences and technical-scientific magazines.
