Day 1 began with a detailed and up to date on EU TSI regulation. The presentation began by exploring the EU framework and more specifically, Interoperability Directive (EU) 2016/797, Delegated Decision (EU) 2017/1474 and Commission’s request. This was followed by an outline on what description of what a recommendation is as well as its ever important process.

To clarify on confusion on the working party- Agency’s role, this was clarified by outlining the different roles and responsibilities within a working party. Additionally, the decision-making process at the ERA was clearly summarised.

And for the highly anticipated moment, the general context of the TSI revision The Fourth Railway Package was explained as well as its legal base of the technical pillar, its evolution, the required vehicle and route, the network and area of use of the vehicle.

Lastly, the General information on the TSI revision and specific mandate for SRT and LOC&PAS and next steps concluded the session. This was followed by delegates eagerly asking questions and engaging with presenters.
