Looking back at Pharma Packaging and Labelling

We have included some of the most foremost and innovative pharma manufacturing companies within the industry in 2018; including Abbvie, Novartis, Roche, Sandoz, Abbott and many more. Further to this, presentations were given from regulatory bodies including GS1, Medicines for Europe and the European Alliance for Access to Safe Medicines to provide a wide scope of expertise and lessons learnt from experience.

Day one, we opened the conference with a regulatory update on current and upcoming regulations delivered by the Director of Global Labelling Strategy at AbbVie, Lynsey Flitton. As well as chairing the event, Lynsey shared insights into how the upcoming FMD deadline will impact business processes and how to overcome challenges. This was followed by talks on moving towards e-labelling and QR codes to interact with patients.

Day one had the audience talking through interactive sessions including the Partnership panel led by Sandoz and Swedish Orphan Biovitrum on creating harmony and better working between the packaging and labelling departments. The end of day roundtables were hugely successful and included topics on label and artwork management systems and sustainability for the future.

Throughout the second conference day, we listened to case studies regarding serialisation with GS1 giving a clear picture of what serialisation means to your business. An Intelligent Trial think tank on artificial intelligence got the audience asking questions on how AI and block chain augment packaging and labelling and insights into future technologies.  Lastly, delegates had the opportunity to further discuss the key issues identified in the conference as well as building networks.
