Listen to the Federal Environmental Agency to prepare for Mercury emissions targets

The Federal Environmental Agency of Germany will present the German policy regarding Mercury to give a foretaste of what every power plant will have to face to meet the new Mercury emissions targets.

Indeed, in Germany the Mercury emissions are already regulated, and all the power plants had either to invest in depolluting technologies, either to increase their ratio of cleaner sources of energy, to cut their emissions.

The Federal Environmental Agency will present the German example of the implementation of Mercury reduction in the energy generation industry. This will be very interesting considering the fact that Germany is one of the countries which uses the more coal fuel. Furthermore, even if Germany is already ahead of Europe on this issue, these limits value are about to be lowered even further, which means new investments, new plans, and new refurbishment for the power plants. Considering the German experience, the European power plants will have a good example to refer to, and they will be able to reproduce successful experiences and avoid failures.
