This year brought out some interesting topics around the juiced market; and in particular about the new methods and popular flavours that are emerging in the category.
A spotlight from Coldpress on the emergence of High Pressure Processing pointed to the benefits of this new process method, which included added flavour, and nutrition.
Cawston Presshighlighted how their flavours showed the consumer love for naturally pressed British fruits demonstrated the success of product simplicity. Furthermore, the success of sparkling mixed fruit juices was also emphasised by the start-up Newton’s Appl Fizzics – a simple sparkling apple drink which features no added sugar or preservatives.
Finally Tapped Birch Water demonstrated the ever expanding category of natural juices. Tapped straight from sources, the birch water works with nature to produce a premium natural beverage with fantastic health properties. Coconut water, Aloe Vera drinks; the key question for this category is what next?
Bold flavours were also a key point of discussion. Caliente Beverages used a tasting session, to show delegates how they were using chilli flavours to grab the attention of drinkers. Similarly, Peter Spanton’s drinks proved another example of a premium non-alcoholic beverage that aims to provide non-drinkers with a premium alternative.
