Ian Fearon
,Independent Consultant
Biography: Ian is an independent consultant with expertise in regulatory and scientific aspects of nicotine and tobacco products. Ian most recently worked for JUUL Labs as Senior Director of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs EMEA, and previously he was Director of Tobacco Research at Celerion, a provider of clinical research capabilities and expertise to the tobacco and e-cigarette industries. Prior to that, Ian was Principal Scientist and Head of Clinical Research at British American Tobacco's central research and development centre in Southampton, U.K. He specializes in the biological and psychological effects of nicotine, and behavioural, clinical and pre-clinical studies to assess electronic cigarettes and tobacco heating devices, and the scientific basis for regulation. Prior to working in the industry, Ian pursued an academic career as a Lecturer in Physiology at the University of Manchester and an Assistant Professor in Biology at McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada. Ian is a highly-cited scientific researcher and writer, contributing to more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and book chapters which have generated over 2,500 citations.

Biography:
Azim Chowdhury, a partner with the law firm of Keller and Heckman LLP, counsels domestic and foreign corporations on U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and international regulatory compliance matters and on tobacco and e-vapor product regulation.
Mr. Chowdhury advises corporations in establishing clearances for food and drug additives in the U.S., Canada, and European Union, with an emphasis on indirect additives used in drug and food-contact materials. He has expertise in the tobacco and e-vapor product regulation relating to the implementation of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act and spearheads the FDA Tobacco and Electronic Cigarette practice at Keller and Heckman LLP.
Mr. Chowdhury has experience representing tobacco, e-cigarette and e-liquid manufacturers, suppliers and trade associations in matters of FDA regulatory and corporate compliance. He represents clients on tobacco, e-cigarette and e-liquid matters before the FDA and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). He is also a frequent contributor to the Food and Drug Law Institute (FDLI) Update Magazine, has served on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Food and Drug Law Journal, and edited and co-authored FDLI’s recent publications, Tobacco Regulation and Compliance: An Essential Resource and FDA Regulation of Tobacco: A Comprehensive Guide – An FDLI Primer. Mr. Chowdhury is a frequent speaker and author.

Biography: My name is Marcin Górecki, I have graduated chemistry studies at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. I have been working for over 6 years in the chemical industry as a Technologist and as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist. For three years, I've been dealing with TPD in EU. Thanks to my experience related with REACH and CLP, I have also gained a lot of knowledge related to the e-liquids industry. My present position allows me to develop contacts with all EU authorities responsible for TPD. Part of my job is to notify e-liquids and e-cigarettes and also fulfil all other obligations arising from these provisions as well as other provisions pertaining to the chemical industry. It will be my pleasure to speak for the third time at the conference to share my knowledge with you.
