2019 Highlights
  • A stellar speaking faculty, exciting new topics and exclusive networking opportunities made the 2019 edition of the Clinical Trials Midwest conference our most successful edition yet.

This year, the conference kicked off with a think-tank session on the topic of breaking down internal silos to enable all stakeholders in your clinical trial to align timelines and goals. This important discussion was led by Larry Crow, Director Regulatory Compliance, Genzada Pharmaceuticals and Angie

Shumaker, Manager, Global Clinical Affairs, Hollister. Delegates were split into small groups and were asked to discuss a number of key challenges and then brainstorm solutions that would help their organisations break down their own internal siloes as well as those with external partners. The session finished with the various groups sharing practical tips for overcoming the issue. Meanwhile, the clinical supply room covered a number of new and ongoing issues such as e-labelling, import-export regulations and Direct-to-Patient trial supplies.

Throughout the second day, the audience focused on finding the right vendors for your study needs and managing relationship with them to ensure product quality. A standout presentation was delivered by Michael Gazda, Vice President, Bexion Pharmaceuticals who spoke about key aspects of successful CMO selection.  This was followed by an engaging interactive discussion with Caryn Barnett, Senior Director, Clinical Operations, Endocyte and Beth Robinson, Exec Dir Clinical Compliance and Operations, Horizon Pharma on working with your vendors to manage risk in clinical trials.
