Clinical Operations in Oncology East Coast 2017 brings an extremely unique position to the oncology community. This year we offer clinical trial professionals the opportunity to interact with patients to gain crucial insights from the key people involved in industry developments. Whilst previous year’s we have had many discussions that were patient focused, this will be the first year that we step in to the mind of the actual patient – a chance to gain in-depth insights from a perspective that could develop in to new enhanced methods.

As of 2016, approximately 3% of adult cancer patients enrolled in clinical trials so what can we do to encourage more people to engage in this crucial research?

On day 1, delegates can look forward to our Patient Panel – a key exclusive session where patients will join on stage to discuss their thoughts on clinical trial engagement whilst covering relevant topics such as recruitment and trial design.  This session will also provide you an insight in to how best to communicate with patient groups in order for them to actively want to participate.

With such a significant rise in cancer cases over previous years, now is a crucial time in oncology development to make changes that will better our research, leading to the answers that we have been awaiting for so long.

For 2017, we are proud to welcome Jack Whelan to open our annual conference. He will be with us to discuss the option of creating a larger patient pool for clinical research for the aim of achieving greater outcomes in clinical trials. Jack is a cancer patient survivor and through 8 years of fighting and exploring clinical trials, he joins us to share with you his story, what he has learnt and how as an industry we can move forward for the better.
