Nominations for the 36th Annual RBI Global Awards 2022 are now open.
The 36th Annual RBI Global Awards 2022 will take place in London on 4th May 2022. We’re thrilled to be hosting this incredible event in person and are quite impressed with the quality of entries submitted!
To submit a nomination, please send your completed Entry Form and any supporting documents to firstname.lastname@example.org by 1pm GMT on 21st April 2022. Please refer to the Information Pack for submission rules.
Awards Categories & Judging Criteria
RBI Global Retail Bank of the Year
Awarded to outstanding retail bank for executing remarkable consumer banking practices and strategies in the year; the judges will look for evidence of creative thinking, innovation, and demonstrable world class retail banking metrics in the bank’s results.
Best Mobile Banking Initiative
Awarded to the best mobile banking project, product, service, or initiative that was launched within 2021. The entries must demonstrate how this impacted the product and improved sales/return on investment for the bank. If launched before 1st January 2021 the project, product, service, or initiative must have had improvements in 2021 to be eligible.
Best Open Banking Initiative
Submissions should demonstrate the bank’s success in adopting a successful Open Banking strategy for its customer base in line with current PSD2 regulations. Criteria will include improvements in customer experience, share of wallet and net promoter scores.
Best Fintech Partnership
Awarded to the bank that best demonstrates how a fintech collaboration has demonstrated real bottom line improvements for the bank and improved customer satisfaction.
Best Retail Banking Product Innovation
Awarded for the outstanding product launch during 2021 with demonstrable success in terms of growing sales from new or existing customers.
Best Customer Experience
Awarded to the bank that can best demonstrate how an innovation via digital or physical means has resulted in an improvement in the customer experience with the end customer directly interacting with a new use of technology.
Best ESG Strategy
Submissions should highlight how the bank has recognised the strategic value of ESG across the business for its employees, customers, and other stakeholders.
Best Security Initiative
Awarded for a project, product, service, or initiative that was launched within 2021 or boosted within 2021, recognising excellence in data, analytics, and other technologies to deliver a demonstrable improvement in the bank’s security systems.
Best Use of Biometrics
Awarded for a biometrics project, product, service, or initiative that was launched within 2021 in either full or part or boosted within 2021 to drive best- in-class initiatives to deliver a demonstrable return on investment.
Best Banking Sector COVID Initiative
A project, product, service, or initiative that was launched within 2021 in either full or part or improved within 2021 to tackle the challenges presented by the Covid pandemic to benefit either customers or employees of the winning bank. Please state the innovation/ effectiveness or impact of the Covid strategy and provide metrics to prove success.
Best Bank for SMEs
Awarded to the financial institution that has launched a product or service targeted at the SME sector that has enabled the bank to increase sales to new and/or existing customers utilising marketing channels both traditional and emerging and capturing the judges’ imagination for its novelty factor.
Best Mass Affluent Segment Initiative
A project, product, service, or initiative that was launched within 2021 in either full or part to service the mass affluent segment of the market that has enabled the bank to boost sales to new or existing customers.
Best Self-Service Initiative
Awarded to the bank has delivered outstanding customer service and improved its business model as a result of a self-service initiative.
Most Innovative Branch Initiative
A branch project, service or initiative that was launched within 2021 or enhanced in 2021 that has impacted on the branch customer experience and resulted in improved service deliverables and a return on investment.
Best Marketing Initiative
A campaign/loyalty programme or strategy that was launched within 2021 or enhanced in 2021 awarded to the bank displaying evidence of a successful integrated marketing strategy across physical, digital, or social channels.
The winning bank should be able to demonstrate evidence for increased customer engagement, actionable customer needs analysis and a direct impact on the profitability of the product/service promoted. If a loyalty/rewards programme is in question, the bank should demonstrate how its programme has delivered real value to the customer and delivered demonstrable commercial benefits for the bank brand.
Best Use of IT in Retail Banking
Awarded for an IT Initiative that was launched or enhanced within 2021 to drive best- in-class initiatives to deliver a demonstrable return on investment. Please state the innovation/ effectiveness or impact of the IT initiative with metrics to prove success.
Best Banking Use of AI
This category recognises excellence in data, analytics and other technologies deployed by a bank to drive best- in-class AI initiatives to deliver a demonstrable return on investment. These technologies could help with an improved customer experience, increased operational efficiency or the successful avoidance of fraud or other risks to the bank’s systems.
Best Cloud Initiative
Awarded for a cloud project or initiative that was launched or optimised within 2021 and recognises excellence in data, analytics and other technologies deployed by a bank to drive best- in-class cloud initiatives to deliver a demonstrable return on investment,
Best Core Banking Initiative
Awarded for a core banking project launched or improved during 2021 that has resulted in an improved customer experience or increased operational efficiency or the successful avoidance of fraud or other risks to the bank’s systems. Please state the innovation/ effectiveness or impact with metrics to prove success.
Best Digital Banking Initiative
Awarded for the digital banking service enhancement or digital banking initiative in 2021 that has resulted in a boost to the bank’s digital metrics, optimised the customer experience and provided the bank with a return on its investment.
