Lachlan Henderson

Lachlan is a rail systems fire engineer with more than 18 years’ rail engineering experience.

His career has been shaped by roles in rolling stock manufacturing, rolling stock consulting, rail system consulting, and most recently in rail operations. He has worked on projects delivered into 12 different countries. Lachlan has worked with multiple rail authorities to define their in-house fire safety specifications, and he was author of AS 7529, Australia’s first national standard for rolling stock fire safety.

Lachlan is currently Metro Trains Melbourne’s Fire & Facilities Engineering Manager, providing fire safety assurance and advice for rolling stock, station and tunnel projects, and developing emergency procedures for rail operations.
