This webinar will welcome an expert panel to discuss the key challenges US companies are facing and why they’re looking outside the country to expand their operations. For example, the high costs for companies based in Silicon Valley and the global competition for tech talent.

With advanced technologies such as AI driving efficiencies across sectors, this webinar will highlight what opportunities there are for tech companies looking to expand their capabilities, and the potential of building a skilled workforce in this field.

We will look at how Scotland has been successful in attracting businesses looking to expand their operations. Inward investment projects in the country grew by 3.3% in 2022, compared to 1.4% growth across Europe and a 6.4% fall across the UK, according to EY data.

This webinar will also welcome some companies that have moved to Scotland to further develop their AI capabilities, such as Californian Dental Software company Planet DDS, and look at how the University of Edinburgh’s Bayes Centre, Innovation Hub for AI and Data Science is helping companies capitalise on the opportunities that exist within data and AI.

Chief Technical Officer, Planet DDS

Angelina is a senior executive who believes that the success of any company comes down to people. She has been CTO at Planet DDS since 2020, the company provides dental offices and Dental Support Organizations (DSOs) SaaS, cloud-based solutions for running their businesses efficiently and effectively. Angelina leads the product development, testing, IT, infrastructure, and product management teams as well as participating in company strategy and M&A as part of the senior executive team. Prior to Planet DDS, she has held senior technology and engineering roles for eSUB Inc, Verimatrix Inc and TriTech Software Systems since 2005.

Beyond the workplace, Angelina has had a long tenure serving on the board of San Diego’s .NET User Group and volunteers with Connect San Diego. She is also a long-standing member of The San Diego Women’s Foundation.
