Having founded FloodFlash in 2017, Ian first saw the potential of parametric (or ‘event-based’) insurance while working at RMS, the world’s largest catastrophe modelling firm. Whilst there, he and co-founder Adam Rimmer structured and modelled triggers on over $2bn of parametric insurance products for governments and large corporations around the world. Today they are using the latest mobile-connected technology and risk modelling to apply those same principals to a scalable platform, providing affordable cover to the millions who need it most.
