Elbia Gannoum

Elbia Gannoum has a Doctorate in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2003), a Masters in Economics from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (1999), and a degree in Economic Science from the Federal University of Uberlândia (1997). She has been ABEEÓLICA – Associação Brasileira de Energia Eólica (the Brazilian Wind Energy Association) CEO since Setember 2011. As ABEEólica ́s CEO, she has been active in strengthening the sustainable growth of wind energy, which is now the second largest source of electric energy in Brazil since 2019. Elbia is recognized as an opinion-forming voice in the electric sector, with a constant presence in media and specialized media outlets, as well as publishing articles frequently. Since May 2020, Elbia is vice president representing associations on the GWEC Board.
