Shamik Dhar, Chief Economist, BNY Mellon Investment Management Shamik Dhar has 33 years’ experience as an economist. Starting in H.M. Treasury as an economic assistant in the mid-1980's, he moved to Oxford Economic Forecasting and then spent most of the 90's as a senior economist in the Bank of England, where he worked on the UK economic forecast in the early days of inflation targeting and on monetary policy analysis in the early days of the Monetary Policy Committee. Shamik moved to Aviva Investors (formerly Morley Fund Management) in 2000 and spent the next 14 years in the City of London, ending up as a Head of Investment Strategy.In 2014,he became Chief Economist at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in a period of rapid geopolitical and economic change, advising ministers and senior officials on the economics of Brexit. Shamik joined BNY Mellon as Global Chief Economist in October 2018. Shamik has a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University and a Masters in Economics from Queen Mary College, University of London. He also spent a year as a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania in the mid-1990’s

Per owns and runs his own investment bank, Wimmer Financial, which he founded on the 50th anniversary of Sputnik day, October 4th, 2007. He is also the Founder of WimmerSpace, through which he has three planned missions to space on three different rockets. One of these trips will be with Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic, of which Per is a Founding Astronaut.

Prior to founding his own investment bank, Per was advising on equities at the MAN Group/Man Securities.

Keith Wade is Chief Economist at Schroders, based in London. He is responsible for the economics team and the house view of the world economy. Keith reports to CIO and is a Member of the Group Asset Allocation Committee. His investment career commenced when he joined Schroders in 1988 as UK economist and in 1992 he became Schroders’ senior economist responsible for international economic forecasting. Prior to joining Schroders he was a researcher at the London Business School's Centre for Economic Forecasting.

Keith is a member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals (UKSIP) and the Society of Business Economists. He holds an Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and is a trustee and member of the investment committee for Addenbrookes hospital Trust in Cambridge. Keith is a regular contributor to the press and has co-authored a book on macro-economics for MBA students. He has an MSc and BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics.

James Sellon- After graduating in Financial and Business Economics, James began his career at Salomon Smith Barney in 1999 and joined their International Private Wealth division in London. He jointly set up the US ex-pat wealth team in 2001 and built up this team before leaving to co-found MASECO in 2008 on the advent of the new non-domicile tax changes in the UK.  With these new non-domicile tax changes afoot James enabled a range of low-cost US mutual funds to become tax efficient in the US and the UK paving the way for a new model of investing for Americans living in the UK.  In 2009, James went on to co-found MASECO Switzerland (now Pilotage Private Wealth AG), followed by MASECO Asia and MASECO Asset Management in 2016.

James holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®), Certified Financial Planner (CFP™) and Chartered Wealth Manager (CWM) qualifications and is considered an expert in advising ultra-high net worth international and US families with multi-faceted and challenging investment and structuring requirements. James is often asked to speak at industry forums and global conferences on wealth planning considerations for international families.

Over the last five years, James has been recognised by Spears by winning the High Net Worth Asset Manager of the Year, twice named as one of the UK's 50 Most Influential by PAM and was named as Entrepreneur of the Year by Citywealth's Future Leaders.

James passionately believes that firms in the twenty first century should have a wider social responsibility that looks beyond simply profit maximisation and has a social purpose and as such was instrumental in MASECO becoming the first financial services B Corporation in the UK in 2013. Previously, Christine was Senior Partner and CEO Switzerland at Capco, an international management consultancy dedicated to the Financial Services industry. She was also a founding member of the APAC Management Team, where she launched and led the global wealth and investment management practice and offices in Switzerland and Singapore. Christine started her career at J.P. Morgan, where she worked for both the investment and private bank in New York, London, Geneva and Hong Kong.

As GM & VP of GE Healthcare, he led the creation and global market launch of the GE Health Cloud - the first industry cloud solution for healthcare. He was the Group CTO & Chief Product Officer at EMIS Group Plc., where he worked directly with the NHS to create innovative solutions and supported the overall governance in UK’s response to COVID-19. During this time, he also collaborated with some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies providing AI and data science platforms which allowed the acceleration of COVID-19 vaccine developments. In another of his startups, Empericus, Nuno created a new health intelligence platform, which achieved multiple awards as Startup of the Year for Healthcare and Sports Sciences.

 

Nuno joined Industrial Thought in November 2022. He leads the group in driving the wealth management industry’s transition to a socially responsible, sustainable circular economy by managing and investing in innovative businesses.

 

There are currently four companies within the Industrial Thought group: FSL, the market-leader in specialist investment tax solutions, Thought Train, a rapid proof of concept company focused on financial product development, Raw Knowledge a data provider for the wealth management industry, and Thought Ventures, a venture builder and incubator aimed at innovative startups in the circular economy space.

She has established the investment advisory arm of EFG Private Bank in the UK and leads with passion and energy to service her clients’ investment needs.

As wealth transitions to a new generation, and a new breed of UHNW is created through disrupted industries she comments” Being close to clients means truly listening, building solutions that meet a fast-changing world with their fast-changing needs”.

Before joining EFG in 2015 she held various roles at Citi Private Bank including an Investment Counsellor in the UK and led the alternatives managed investment sales for EMEA in Switzerland. Prior to this, Fella was an alternatives portfolio manager at Union Bancaire Privee where she serviced institutional clients. She started her career as an analyst with Ansbacher & Co Ltd, in London.

She grew up in Algeria but has worked internationally and speaks fluent French and Arabic.  A relentless advocate for diversity, she supports women in the industry to promote themselves and reach their leadership potential. She created and chairs the EFG International’s Women Network. Fella regularly contributes to wealth and diversity publications and talks.
