This year’s conference promises to be our most exciting to date, with presentations from some of the industry’s top leading experts in the field of outsourcing and vendor management. The following are a sample of what you will find in Boston in November:

Gina Bellistri, AgenusBio, Elspeth Carnan, EMD Serono, & Carol Lewis-Cullinan, Seres Therapeutics, will be involved in a panel that seeks to understand ways sponsors can best select their vendors and keep them engaged to successfully run your trial. This panel will review current partnership models; which one works best for you company’s size and budget, discuss ways alliances can be best managed to ensure you get the best service for what you pay for, evaluate ways you can keep your partner engaged throughout a trial, whether contract incentives work to keep partners committed to your success all while Presenting practical actions that have delivered positive results.

Christine Tosone, Allena Pharma, and Brian Meltzer, Adare Pharmaceutical, will tackle the Riddles of Recruitment and Retention, a particular headache for the industry. Through their panel discussion their aim will be to evaluate the errors in enrolment estimates to better anticipate final retention, analyse the flexibility of vendors to better respond to fluctuating enrolment figures and avoid wastage in supplies, explore new methods of recruiting the right patients and trial sites to increase efficiency in enrolment and trial supplies all while best practice techniques for enrolment to maximize patient retention ensuring patients receive trial drugs on time.

Wes DeHaan, PhD, Vice President, Gout Program Lead, Selecta Biosciences will be giving an insightful presentation that encourages teambuilding between in-house and partners’ teams to improve trust, create a transparent environment and maximize resources. His session will look at current communication arrangements between vendors and sponsors to ensure both parties are aligned and improve information exchanges, exploring opportunities for vendors and sponsors to exchange roles and understand one another business priorities while uncovering best practice techniques to guarantee commitment from partners for a trials success to ensure quality is maintained throughout study duration.
