What are the patients saying?

Patients are at the centre of the clinical trials industry and it is vital that studies incorporate patients to ensure their trial designs remain patient- centric. Patient recruitment and retention issues can cost on average over €32K in operational costs and up to €7M in lost opportunity costs, illustrating the importance of overcoming this issue.

  The 2018 will include a patient led workshop byTrishna Bharadia, which will allow clinical practitioners to get hands on in designing a patient appropriate study in teams facilitated by a patient. This will give individuals in the industry an opportunity to use patient led information, with no restrictions to create the optimal study, allowing them to contemplate alternate variables that may not normally be considered. The use of social media during patient recruitment will be addressed by Tanja Ouimet, who will highlight ways to capitalise off social media channels to keep patient involvement high.
